Henry Amster Friend, born near Friendsville on April 30, 1875, a

son of Elijah and Anna Friend, died on Tuesday, January 18, at

his home in Pittsburgh.  He had been in ill health for the past

one and one-half years but had been bedfast only a week.  He was

aged 73.

 

Formerly of Crawford Hotel in Friendsville, he moved to

Pittsburgh about 1919, where he was employed as a bookkeeper for

the Duquesne Club.

 

He married Clara Englehart, of Accident, who preceded him in

death.  Surviving are three daughters and one son, of the

Pittsburgh area; also one sister, Mrs. Harry J. Black, of

Friendsville.  His brother, J. Bunnel Friend, died just one month

previously.

 

Funeral services are to be conducted on Friday, January 21, in

Pittsburgh, with interment in a Pittsburgh cemetery.
